Studio
Architecture begins with understanding.
VEYRA is an international studio of architects, interior designers and urbanists working from Lagos across three continents.

Our story
The studio began in 2011 with one house, one client and a conviction that good architecture is a form of listening.
Fifteen years later we work across residences, cultural buildings, workplaces and public space — but the method has not changed. We spend longer than most studios on the site and on the brief, and we draw by hand until the idea is clear enough to defend without a rendering.
A global perspective means building differently in Lagos than in Copenhagen. Our teams work locally: local climate data, local trades, local material chains. The studio travels; the buildings belong where they stand.
Design philosophy
- People
- We design from the inside out — from a morning routine to a crowd at an opening.
- Place
- No two sites carry the same light, wind or history. The site sets the brief.
- Material
- Fewer materials, better joints, honest ageing. Nothing applied to hide something.
- Light
- Light is the only material we don't buy, and the one we spend the most time on.
- Context
- We build with the city, not against it. Scale, street and neighbour come first.
- Sustainability
- Longevity is the deepest form of sustainability. We build to be kept.

Global perspective
Twelve cities, one way of working.
We keep a small core team and build project studios around each commission, pairing our architects with engineers, artisans and researchers on the ground. It keeps the work specific — and it keeps us learning.
